Russell Russell's BIO

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Russell has always loved entertaining.  Dancing and singing with his cousins` band in front of his family at the early age of 3 as “James Brown” is how far back Russell himself can remember being a performer.  Naturally, as a young teenager, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming an actor, professional dancer and a musician. 

Russell`s first paying jobs were as simple as dancing on the streets of Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier and Hollywood Blvd. to support himself while attending college.  That is where he developed his skills in Popping & Locking, Improv and Robotics.

His persistence paid off when Russell landed his first real job on the Grammy Awards as one of the choreographers. That led to several tours in the US, Canada, Germany, Japan, Korea, Thailand and Australia, not only as a dancer/choreographer but showcasing his talents in Body Rhythms as well. 

Russell’s unique twist on Body Rhythms, called Gangk,  combines everything from African Boot Dancing through Huffing, Hambone to Mouth Percussion.

Always a musician, Russell has performed in numerous music videos as a bass player, stand up bass player, percussionist and a vocalist.  Throughout the years, undeniably, music has been a strong presence.  Humming a tune, a melody.  Always creating, even in silence.  Now, the music has made its way to the forefront.
